Slyrr, the skin is textured using stencil Alphas made from some photos of animal/reptile skins I found on the web.
All the modelling is done now here’s some renders:

Aha, a fellow pxc bloke. Great work Paul, the skin texture looks really good.
…to retake this link of this tremendous illustratorZdenek Burian cool site!
Cool Dino
Have fun Zbrushing!

Hey frencie nice link!
Ok, here’s a question…
I usually just use auv tiles because I am lazy and don’t like uv unwrapping. However, I am likely going to use a mixture of zbrush and bodypaint for the texture along with some photoshop. Is it possible to take the base subdivision level out of zb , unwrap it in bodypaint, then bring the uv mapped mesh back and swap it into the zbrush subdiv tree again, leaving all the higher levels intact?
Unfortunately, Zbrush won’t let you do it. At least, it wouldn’t let me when I tried. I tried the same thing as you with the doing the UV’s in Zbrush, and Zbrush just butchered them, I mean, you couldn’t even understand the layout of the UV’s anymore. Anyways, when I tried bringing in the same model with already laid out UV’s, Zbrush gave me a “you can’t do that” error, so oh well.
Hi everybody. I’ve not posted here for ages. There is some great work being submitted, very inspiring. I also have been working on this model for ages. Well, more a case of keep getting sidetracked, forgetting about it then remembering it again months later. If I wasn’t a sucker for a pretty dinosaur it would have probably languished in wip hell forever.
I’ll be rendering out some more views over the next day or so.
Have fun,
Paul
just amazing looking. the model itself without color or shaders, i would deem film quality.
im loving it…please do more!
Nice Brachio!! What kind of material you used?
fan-bloody-tastic
Outstanding Paul!!! Your work amazes me again and again.
Stunning!
Thanks guys.
Bas, it is just the basic shader. Diffuse and a lowish specular level being the only parameters I used. I rendered out different passes for the lights and composited them in photoshop.
This is a great modelisation, textures, and skin work 3DP, but I see a thing which bothers me, even if it is little, and of the “chipotage”.
The pyramidal bones, and pisiformes of the legs before are absent at this sort of saurapode. He thus possesses fingers “ring finger” and “little finger” smaller.
With it, he thus possesses an eminence temar (Inside of the leg.) bigger than an eminence hypotemar (Outside of the leg.).
The back leg is still different, because the metacarpien 1st is very long, as dragon of Komodo. He obeys the same rule, the dominant eminence temar.
Here is a just example, legs of the brachiosaure, as well as its anatomy.
The brachiosaurus anatomy.

I think that it is only a detail. Your realization is magnificent, and I really congratulate the work of the skin. It is of the big, and beautiful work. Good luck for the continuation.
PS: Scuse me a lot for my poor English.
Hi Baryonix, thank you for the info. I wish you had posted earlier, this is no longer a WIP ;).
Here the a side view which I’ve just finished off, comments/questions welcome:
Super!
Bye

Outstanding image.
Jurassic Park 4
Fabulous … a relatively simple shape made real by the meticulous and painstaking addition of detail. Thank you … that’s a valuable lesson.
Yes, I saw it only too late (With hundreds of posts which there is a day on the forum…). Nevertheless it is only a detail, and that would not have changed big thing. Your work is magnificent. Good finish of the model.
