BPR behaving strangely

Hi, all. I’m having some issues with BPR rendering, and I hoping someone here would have some suggestions for what is going on.

I just updated zbrush to r2b. I am trying bpr renders with this model (pictured below) for the first time, it seems that it’s having two possibly related issues. One is that the model isn’t getting cast shadpws, and the other is the swirls of light.

I’m using just one light on default settings, and the basic material with no adjustments. I tried the same method with a different model, and it renders fine (good cast shadows, no swirls).

Anyone have any ideas?

The plot thickens on this one. It appears that one of the subtools is causing the problem. Deleting it lets all the other subtools render normally.

I also exported that one subtool as and obj and made it its own tool. It still has the same render issues. I guess that means there is something wrong with the mesh itself?

I think that this could be relate to the shadow-map size that appear to be clamped to a max size of 1024 (even if the value can be set up to 8192).

I’m waiting a solution for this…

Also some problems here. It seems bpr behaves different with materials I used before. Also shadows are sometimes too dark.
