Hi,
I wonder if the following actions are possible with ZBrush :

I would like to divide the faces on the top, and only on the width, I don’t want the length to be subdivided as well. Is that possible ?
Thanks in advance !!

You’re asking for point modeling features in a program that was designed for organic modeling. There really isn’t a way in ZBrush to do the vast majority of what you’re asking for; specifically because ZBrush was designed to free you from such concerns.
For example, the shape that you’re looking for in question 4 could very easily be accomplished in a matter of moments with ZSpheres – and not a bit of “traditional” polygon modeling being necessary to get there.
In other words, “think outside the box.”
Thanks aurick,
I wanted to model something that has sharp edges, that’s why I thought that I should use box modeling (but it has been so painful so far, that I don’t think I’ll do it again…:o )
dont give up just yet!!
Aurick posted a great little tutorial on box modeling if you haven’t seen it yet might help you envision before you begin…also the tutorials in the Practical guide are great sources of info too and running thru them will help you to see how they work…and give you insights in how to “pre-plan” your zsphere work to get the results you want.
Aurick’s tutorial is in the tutorials forum and there is a link to the Practical guide in my signature if you haven’t already checked them out!
zpractice make us crazy but each session teaches us a ton!!
Here’s something I unraveled while practicing my poly modeling. I hope this helps.

6.Export the object and save it. Reimport your saved object with a suitable weld ratio, and they should be welded.
Don’t just think outside the box. Think around it.
