boris kodjoe

Hello all I have started working on a boris kodjoe sculpt and need some help right now I’m using zbrush with different ref images get the shape right but it just dose not seem right to me wanted to know how to fix this. I’m going to be going back and forth between zbrush and 3ds max.

Please give me some feed back I have already started working on the lips and the ears I’m not to concerned with right now but the over all shape is what I’m after. Also how to view the head once in max if I should be using a perspective view of a camera with focal length. Can you even do focal length in 3ds max?

Looks great! first thing i noticed: maybe a little more weight on the jaws and flatten the bulb between his eyebrowes?

The nose, particularly at the top, is much too pinched. The eyes don’t look quite like his to me.

Here is an update

I think the problem is your topology. Usually, you want a loop all around your face like a mask, in your case, the loops around the mouth also does the volume for the chin. And personnaly, I like my loops around the mouth to end near the nostrals, not the middle of the neck, this technique is not usefull when you model a character that is young.

I’m doing for an urban uncharted 2 look for his cloths so I will be changing them to fit the environment better. Please give me any feed back that you have I’m really trying to improve on my skills and if I don’t see anything I can’t really do that thanks to thanks to: IndieBD, Webhead and anigroove for your feedback!

here is another update some details added. reshaped the nose and eyes and the lips a bit. added some fine details on the lips and eye lids as well as some pores and beard details.

Hey me again! I really like your last update with the hires head sculpt. The lips and the overall mouth look pretty good. If you dont mind, I migh have some critique about the body, I cant say much about the fold since it a wip, but you should work a bit more on the anatomy. I would suggest to scale a bit the head and make the legs longer. Making the legs longer will mean he will be 8 heads high, instead of 7, this is very important if your character is a male. Also, the shoulders are technicly attached under the clavicule and connected to the pectorals muscles, so the shoulder on top of the torso instead of being on th side.
