Border problem

Can anyone suggest a workaround to a problem with borders that I am experiencing?

You can see from the image that the border does not fall outside the UV area sufficiently and consequently shows up as unwanted displacement on the model over in Modo.

I have my border on the exporter set to 8 but Im only using Multi displacement 3 to export the disp map, not to create it. Im doing that via Displacement>Create DispMap because I need to use Smooth UV.

Any ideas?

Clone brush, or Smear out the jagged edges in Photoshop. Hope that helps.

I had thought of trying that, I guess I was hoping there was a way to stop the problem in Z brush…
