Boolean subtraction using subtool

Hi All, I have a quick question about boolean

So far I can see 2 ways of doing it: Setting subtools to add/subtract/intersect and pressing remesh… this way I get bad results and the mesh isn’t very clean (it is a hard surface mesh)

other option is to use dynamesh and use IMM brush with alt held down… this works but I have to make a seperate IMM brush for each object I want to subtract and position it in the right place.

Is there some way to subtract a subtool from another one using dynamesh?

Booleans between subtools works the same as with IMM subtraction. You just need to have your Top subtool in Dynamesh mode before Merging down. Then just perform the dynamesh with Ctrl+drag out of the objetc. You will have same resolution as the Top object had. You can choose from Add or Subtract with the spheres icons in the subtools.

As a side note: The object below can´t have more polygons than the Top one if you want to subtract

Hope this helps

Aha awesome, thanks for the reply. This worked a charm…
