Boolean intersection not working for me

Hi,

I can’t seem to get boolean intersection working. I’ve clicked the intersection icon in the subtools and then press merge but this does a union rather than intersection. What might I be missing? What’s the correct way to do a boolean intersection?

got it. For some reason I had thought live boolean was only for visualization… Very nice, thanks!
