@MINTY: Thank you for the kind words :slight_smile: . drag and drop the mia material with mmb onto the mix8, then it will open a drop down menu. click on other… afterward the connection editor opens and you have to connect “result” to f_colorLayer_0, etc

Nodes and inputs and shaders, oh my. God I hate Maya. Thank God for Modo.

@soulty666: your welcome :slight_smile:
@091181: thanks a lot.
@EricShawn: ty, hehe, i can’t live without maya either :wink: its just fun playing with those nodes!

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a great year so far

this work was done during the beta-testing of mentalcore, an amazing mental ray compliment!

the model is Ophelias Overdose. all done with Mouse. maya was used for the base mesh and scene setup, ZBrush for sculpting, photoshop for texturing and final touches, mental ray for rendering (rendered in passes using mentalcore) and composited in Nuke.

As always CnC are massively welcome :wink:

Man I am really impressed in how much you have improved in just a short time!

Good job on the gauze.

Really like the image! Only thing I’d remove would be the “wind” blur on the reflection. The composition is great and love the colors.

Great job!

@Nyx702: thanks a lot, glad you like it.
@Derek Frenzo: thank you so much!
@tobbeo: thanks for the crit, i’ll keep that in mind for future :slight_smile:

Who knows how she looks beneath the bandage :slight_smile:

I like it, simple, but good. How did you do the bandage?

It is nothing special creating the gauze. actually there are multiple ways of doing the pattern of it. and probably the best way is to lay the cloth texture in photoshop and then bringing it in ZBrush as a mask to add the details from it. but this is how i did it.

Thanks man I was looking for something like this!

@devingeesr: your welcome dude.

alright one more! :D i've always found it a bit tricky to achieve a satin like material in mental ray, but i thought i should really get my hands on it one day! i myself found 3 ways of doing it. mixing two shaders(the tutorial), using carpaint and a single mia material (might not look accurate and with less freedom). therefore i liked the first method as it gives more control over what i was trying to achieve. i've also attached the cloth object.
