Awesome work! Merci beaucoup pour partager rendering tips!
First thank’s all I appreciate it
Here’s a link to a tutorial I made about the sss2 in Vray, since many peoples asked me how the sss2 work so there you go
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AANYPdBZM5Y&feature=youtu.be it’s my first ever and english is my second language so ^^ hope you like it!
Nolan_R : Yeah I will retry that BG at some point, I will probably do the cloths this weekend and after some test with that BG
For the highlight in his pupil, dont worry at the final I will use hdri reflection for the eyes, not a square light
pescao : I use Hairfarm, and basically what I did is , hairmesh comb, then hair generate, after a hair gravity, that’s the trick here, to make the closer to the skin, then a push out for the root to not be into the skin and after you play with the look you want, like adding a little kink, wisp, etc. and of course you need to control the growth with maps. BTW I’m tweaking them a bit more now
JohnnyRaptor : Yeah it’S long process, and on and off on it, sometimes 3 mounths off then I come back at it, but it’s long doing an actor… replicating someone without having the person beside me
Next character, will be probably a women face… of a nobody girl
will be muchhh faster and easier to do haha.
Playing around again, added a rim light kind… wich one you prefer, more contrasted or less ? The uncontrasted one is almost untouch from the direct output, except a brigthness on it ( and of course dof etc)

Thanks for the Vray video. I use maya but I’ll definitely try some of the tricks in my next project. Awesome work!
Man, that looks awesome!
How did you managed to make Hairfarm works properly with V Ray?
I mean, even after i apply the Vray Hairmod it still showing a “grainy” aspect.
This is Handsome !
Thank you for the video
Hey thank’s all,
I’m glad you like the tuto
Shepard : I added a hair to poly, I render them as poly. It also depend on many factor for the grain, the AA, mtl setting, etc. But me, I don’t use the Vray hair mtl, I made my own
here’s an other test

Top row man, amazing!
stunning work
Great work Luc!
and thanks for the tutorial, I have to try it on a model of mine.
Cheers Caglar
thanks Luc for the tut,it looks amazing as i mentioned before
Bravo! toprow for sure, thanks for sharing the tuts, the result looks outstanding!
hey thank’s all
next update will be with cloths done and a few tweaks in the hairs and eyebrows shading.
Hi guys,
Here’s an update, no cloths yet finally ^^

http://postimg.org/image/jsry9ytab/ here’s an hi res version
Its really really Great…
really really niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee work
Wow. I can’t wait to see the final Result! This should definitely go top row.
Out of curiosity - why did you make your own hair shader?
Thank’s guys
Francis Bezooyen : I made my own because I’m rendering the hairs in polygons and the vray hair shader is not working so well on poly’s.
That begs the question - why poly hair?
Because Vrayhairfarm modifier do not have an option to add more step to the hairs…so they render very EDGY… so I can’t use it … so no choice to render the hairs as poly and use my custom hair shader. (it will have a smooth option later this year in Vray 3 so let’s wait)
Thanks for your reply. I’ve been considering Vray for an upcoming character project, so that is helpful information.
