Blue Ferrets ZBR4r2 Sketches

i agree is really interesting, if i’m not wrong why don’t you post it rendered in AAHalf size so that there aren’t the little pixel around the model
maybe in a more large document and without texture or colours so we can appreciate the general form more ? I just would like to deepen Mandelbulb
Good work Blueferret

Yes…this is by far the best version…the coloration now finally looks as organically situated as the overall body-form. As to why these self-similar equations produce organic forms in the first place we are shifting to some speculative ground, but I’ll give it a go:

I imagine that biological growth functions pursue convergent strategies with fractals because it is incredibly efficient to have a simple rule system that generates a large number of adaptive options, located in different meta-stable regions where new forms can be found, and then stabilized until mutation resets the ‘parameters’ enough to find another (possibly useful) meta-stable ‘region’. The key is to have a ‘system’ or syntax which can capture both identity and similarity AND the possibility of new forms if there is enough selection pressure to get to the next ‘attractor’. Change and stability, adaptation and inheritance. I suppose we have seen Pickover and Gould wander over some of this ground in their writing, particularly looking at early efforts at evolutionary algorithms.

Wow , Thanks Guys for the great feedback… .:):):):):)

Some really good advice , LVXIFER I will try to do a better render but the size 500 KB Limit really chops up the images…

Mhued, I think I’ll look up those two authors you mentioned and try to gain some more insight…

Thanks Tonare I just do all this to keep my mind from degenerating so I can get it all out as I feel my mortality more everyday …

Korkoro, thanks , Its just so cool to plug in numbers and create new unimagined forms…

A new Fractal that I helped to bring out some more forms…

cool , we can appreciate its forms more here

how do you mean? … are you using “save for web” in photoshop?

"

I resize first and use export jpg from PSP 9. Variable compression in the dialog with preview to see results.

@ tyrellcorp and Doug Jones

Yeah I use CS2 and save for web with variable windows…Why is PSP9 that much better at compressing Jpg’s ?

The 500KB limit on Zbrush uploads…

Was just sharing my workflow, I usually have document size twice what I want and save out to .psd.
I don’t know if it’s any more or less capable than what you use. JASC was aquired by Corel.

My thought is that we need to ask the makers of Zbrush to make png’s available for uploads (as its a no loss compression format ) and of course raise the upload limit to at least a 1000 KB…

Of course that last should be prefaced with a PPPPlease !!! … Deke

not sure why you would have issues with compression artifacts. all my images are between 300-450k with no worries. i would normally render at very high resolutions (3k/4k /5k etc) and then export it out to PS as a targa (maya) or as a tiff (zbrush) , resize for the forum usually 1500 wide etc and then set the “save for web” to 65% or as near to 500k as posiable. comes out really good…!!

My Fractal turned into a Swan of sorts…

Usually I save my pics as psd’s and then resize as jpg all in PS… They look all right to me most of the time…
thanks for the advice I might try that way Just to see if there is a difference…Deke

Quick Sketch with only partial displacement… and eyes done in PS. The background is a fractal …

basemanpsrtdispl.jpg

looks familiar, very nice… i would suggest to do eyes in zbrush, or blender, i think this would push your portrait much further…anyway, the displacement is nice!
