Bloat = Scale

My mesh is outputed into maya and set up correctly with my disp map mental ray,I followed the vidoe tutorials on the site.
i have done ot a number of times so i think this area is fine.

But i keep getting bloat very badly.

So i heard if the bloat is not the disp map set up as a problem,it must be a scale.Im sure ive double checked this.

So the last time I rendered the object inside maya and the bloating started to go again ,but i then scaled the object down & bloat is worse, and then i scale up to about 20,the bloat goes away, and the displace renders fine but the object is huge.

i brought back in to z brush and tried a unify,as i read some where it is a magic scale reset button.

But pressing it did nothing except move ot slightly, and i still have the bloat & it still goes away if i rescale in maya 0-20,but this cannot be accurate or a correct method.
Im sure its a scalling problem for me?

But how do i get the corect displacement at scale 0 ,rather than scale up to 20.? or the bloating at 0

Where abouts did i go wrong.

thanks

sorry

im using 3.5

its funny, but I am now in the strange position of the displacement now working each time !

I cant seem to get my disps to fail at all, when before i was expecting a failure

I was on the right track with scale, but it was my fault not z brushes,in fact it had all to do with set up in maya, with the scale.

I was in cm not feet, as soon as i put it into feet it worked every time ,and also i found out after reading about the export and import to maya z brush ,i did not have to export a model out of zbrush if it was made inside maya, just the disp map.
I dont know if i have found this out in time to save my work or have done to much damage by importing & exporting.
I dont mind redoing it as i know it will work !

But i can only test the theory out.

Test test test,is now a good idea to get used to my workflow

And perhaps i can write it down as well

or even print off the aurick answers i managed to find in my searches rather than the pc going bang, just in case.
