Blast Car

I spent a while making this model in Wings3D. I completely overdid the smoothing display. I’d like to render it in Vue D Esprit but the smooth shading thing looks nasty. Every time I make something for another application, it seems like I always end up going right back to Zbrush. And I just purchased both upgrades to VueInfinite and Poser 6. I hope I didn’t waste my money.

Wish I had one of those for my drive to and from work. Still trying to figure out why it is folks from Wisconsin think its ok to do 40-45 on the tollway in the passing lane…so one of these would be nice for solving that problem!

Can’t remember what the revue I read about Vue, but for the shadows thing alone the next version of poser will be worth the upgrade. Been a long time coming so it will be worth the bucks I assure you.

From the pics you have posted here of this model…looks like ya coulda done it all in Z.

Have fun experimenting.

I use Vue pro 4 at the moment & it works ace with ZB, I’m waiting for my upgrade to Infinite too, which looks awesome, I doubt you’ve wasted your money.

Cool vehicle, nice to see something mechanical here :+1:

I do agree that I could’ve saved some time and gained some quality and done the entire thing in Zbrush. I’m going to start from scratch using mainly Z and see what I come up with as I don’t use Z for anything mechanical. But Zbrush has some problems over smoothing things sometimes. That barrel shield over the gatling gun looks like marshmallow.

With a little grouping in Wings3D and using Zbrush for the majority of creases, all of the previous problems I had are gone and the geometry is so much easier to handle. It seems best going piece by piece, with much better results.
