I wish there was more control with the “clip curve” brush and the “mask curve” tool. It would help if there was the kind of control you get from bezier curves incorporated in these tools. The way the tool works now I find myself drawing curves and hitting undo a lot. I would like to see a curve that clips or masks relative to the view, but I can lay down and push into shape before I activate the clip or mask function. Is there anything in the works to support this?

the reason i ask is that there are some interesting things going on with 3d software. there is a new rosetta stone type software that is allowing quads to be converted into NURBS and and even into solidworks as smart geometry. it does it like a sub-d conversion. in short i can now take a scan or any garbage file with triangles and button click it through either Zbrush, topogun, or 3d coat and turn over an engineering file.
i am an industrial designer and while i love Zbrush i never get to use it because i need surfaces and solids not poly’s/quads. now with this new software i can use Zbrush. my problem is that i dont feel that there is an interest inside Pixologic to support industrial/product modeling. i understand that i may just represent too small a niche’ to support, but there are only a few processes that i see needing support. i know, easy for me to say that its only a little bit of work.
are you saying that there is nothing in the works or that there is a ton going on that no one on the outside knows about?
No, I’m not saying there is nothing in the works. Pixolator seems to always be working on great new tools and features for Zbrush, sometimes released as plug-ins and sometimes as a new release. Zbrush 4 was just recently released with many very cool new features. So, unlikely there will be a whole new release in the short term.
What I meant is that to my knowledge not much is put out by the company about what the future holds for changes and upgrades. There are a continues stream of requests like yours for whatever individuals need to make their 3D lives easier but i don’t really see responses form the company concerning those posts. The most popular request these days seems to be for a decent retopo system.
