I’m wondering if your custom interface is affecting the display. Try pressing Preferences>Config>Restore Standard UI to see if it makes any difference.
If that is the case then you need to change the color for the Preferences>Icolors>Curve button (near the bottom right of the colored buttons, roughly the middle of the sub-palette).
