I’m curious how the community deals with poly painting high detail characters. I have a character which I want to paint a skin texture across her entire body, then export textures for rendering in Maya. I’ve broken up the UV’s into 4 maps (Head, Body, Legs, Arms). I could just start poly painting my entire character, but she’s only about 5 mil polys, and if I go any higher to get more paintable polys, ZBrush slows down. I went ahead and broke her into sub tools, and I can now adjust resolution per part, but now I can’t paint across UV seams between the sub tools. Does anyone have a good solution for this? In the past, I’d import the character into Mudbox and paint out seams, but I’d rather just stay in ZBrush, as I’m on a huge ZBrush high right now.
