Best way for swapping between different polygroups?

I don’t really know how to approach this in the best possible way or, at least, in an optimal way.
Let’s see, I have this big subtool (body) and it has several polygroups.

I have two different versions of the chest, the clean one (A) and the scarred one (B). I want to be able to swap between them while keeping all the body seamless.

So I thought of duplicate the whole body, and have two different subtools. But this doesn’t sound like the best way around, having 2 whole bodies just for a few scars.

Then I thought of splitting the chest polygroup into a separated subtool, but this leaves seams over the cuts.
I’d prefer to not having to use dynamesh/zremesh once again.

Which is the best workflow for this? What would you recommend?

I’m not sure I understand what you are asking, but you can sculpt across polygroups without leaving seams. Polygroups don’t interfere with sculpting in any way.
