Can somebody please explain BPR mode a little more clearly to me. I guess I don’t fully understand it’s application (I’m not talking about all the maps it creates…I get that).
Here is a specific question: Say you are happy with the results of your BPR,
and it looks great on the tool that you have in edit mode how do you re create
all those settings in Best render mode to render the whole scene?
Any help would be appreciated.
Explain what you’re trying to do. I’m not understanding yet. Basically, you render your Best Render and then do BPR. The resulting maps you can download and use with your Best Render.
I guess what I’m trying to say is how do take all the settings from BPR mode and use them for a best render. In other words applying the settings to render the whole scene as apposed to one tool.
Starting from the first, you run Best Render.
Then you run BPR. If you’re fortunate, you’ll have 5 renders from the BPR, which you can save as PSD or TIF or BMP files to be used in Photoshop.
Is this beginning to answer your question?
results of my experimentation show the two renderers to be quite different. They are so different that you can’t simply copy settings from one to the other. Like previously mentioned you can run a Best Render then a BPR, but this doesn’t work for multiple frames using timeline.
What I’m doing is creating custom render passes to render out from timeline and then composite together using after effects. I am using AAhalf with no AA on the BPR.
Each pass is created individually, all lights in isolation, each shader separately, AO and shadows separately. You can split things up as complicated as you like, doing so increases your flexibility later.
Doing this, you’d be able to render out animations using timeline, and mix the passes to get the affect you want. For instance you could render your color passes using Best Render, then overlay BPR AO and shadow passes using a multiply blending mode, which can then be adjusted on the fly by changing the layer’s opacity.
Anyways, that’s what I’m doing anyways
