Hello, I am building my first computer so I can start gaining some experience in a digital format. I have an EVGA X58 Classified motherboard (3SLI) an i7-975Extreme along with a Cooler Master Real Power 1250w, HAF 932 case, and peripherals. My question is, what graphics card would work best with what I have so far. I have a 23" LG monitor and a Cintiq 21UX in a few months. No dual monitors and the computer is going to be only used for my artwork. No gaming or internet. I was considering dual EVGA GeForce 295 Co op cards.
Well, the graphics cards depend on what 3D apps you are going to be running. For just ZBrush, they won’t make the slightest difference as ZBrush doesn’t use the GPU.
Thank you for your reply. My system I am building is going to be overkill at first. I plan on using a combination of Renderman and Autodesk Maya hopefully in 2010. I want to start with ZBrush and possibly Photoshop for 2d painting. If I can avoid it, I don’t want to spend over $500 on two graphics cards. Most of my budget will be consumed by the Cintiq and software.
