Here is a image i am using to try and figure out ZBrush’s Texture tools.
As you can tell I need serious help!
thankx

ALSO: Is there a way to export from ZBrush in any other format besides *psd or *bmp??

I only have the demo and can only export in those two formats…This creature is very interesting…looks like something outta one of my short stories…shudddders…if ya find out something about the exporting lemme know too…
At this time you can only import/export bmp and psd. But many people have asked for other formats, especially jpg, so I would bet we’ll be seeing that in the next version or two…
Anyway, cool image!
Good use of the SnakeHook brush, and the multi-eyeballs are a neat idea.
Export in psd or bmp format then open the image in another program and save as a jpeg or whatever else you want.
Tools can be exported as OBJ or DXF files, for use in other 3D modeling programs, and will export with the UV coordinates. Bear in mind, however, that you can only export a modified 3D primitive in this way, where you have used Edit mode to add to or move parts of the geometry (like modeling a head). The results of 2D or 2.5D tools (like the snake hook brush, which you used on your beholder), cannot be exported as geometry.
For textures, you have already been given the answers above.
one thing that i dont think was touched on this subject was materials… materials have a big part in texturing images… materials applied with add, sub, and alpha brushes, setting your intensity levels also have a big part in texturing…the texture master is easy to use if you have a tool on the canvas, but what happens if your done with the image and your want to add more textures to your images… well at this time you would use the items mentioned above to complete your images… im sure you aready new this but i thought that i could maybe help a little… good luck.
Can hardly wait until Zbrush can handle jpg. My harddrives are already screaming, since I am always grabbing a texture if I come across a cool one. Saving in bmp and psd are just too big. Of course it’s nice to save a good pic in the higher settings like that. But not everything. Thanks Dr. Rarely use the sub with a brush other than sculpting., will have to try that more.
