In the future if you encounter symmetry issues try the Smart Resym method (Deformation options).
Mask the part you want copied to the other side, set it to the right axis and click Smart Resym.
Oh yes! I remember learning about smart resym on the video tutorials here on this site. Thanks for the reminder!
Having fun with the DamStandard brush… Starting on the feeding tubes…
Your sculpting in the most recent images is so top notch I’d like to see you do your own original monster rather than Neville Page’s Cloverfield. That is some terrific detailing!
You use the Damien Standard to get those fine scratch/indentations?
Thank you so much, Eric! I totally understand what you mean, I’ve had others tell me this as well.
My reasoning behind studying Neville’s monster is because I still consider myself a beginner. By practicing different techniques on the Cloverfield monster, I can find reasoning behind why different areas look a certain way (such as the lower back being all wrinkly because that is an area of lots of movement, like the palm of a hand).
I do have a couple of ideas of my own being stored for future works. Thanks again for your input! I really appreciate it.
Oh and yes to your question - I’ve fallen in love with the damstandard brush  I used it very lightly and finely for the wrinkles and also the stretchy parts of the skin on the front of it’s hip area.
Man how long did it take you to retopo the sculpt? I find the retopo tool in zbrush a little frustrating and avoid it as much as I can. Are there any secret tips you used to get through the thing or was it old fashion sucking it up and just doing it?
Haha, I can agree that retopology is pretty frustrating at times. It took me a LONG time to complete the retopo of this mesh, but it’s mainly because I wanted as much poly resolution as possible. Ultimately it came down to just sucking it up and doing it. But I must say I found the resulting mesh quite worth the many headaches and crashes
The fingers and toes were particularly difficult because if I didn’t follow the mesh closely enough in those areas, the polys would end up exploding out and closing in in the preview mesh. Lots of trial and error in this piece, but hey, practice is practice right?
I took the time to upload a couple of my previous works. I did a portrait of my dad a few months ago, which I plan to revisit very soon with the new techniques I’ve learned. I don’t have any other 3D software other than ZBrush. I don’t even have Photoshop just yet, so all texturing and modeling is done entirely in ZBrush.

Thanks for the info!
I like the last head
Love the head done of Father.
Excellent work.
All the best
Thanks, guys! Really appreciate it
Turned my focus over to the head for a little bit. Obviously in the baby stages.
its on its baby stage but im liking the overall look already… keep going.
Thanks! Here’s a little more progress. I’m still having a tad bit of trouble with the symmetry not lining up perfectly, but it’s very subtle. I’ve tried another Smart Resymm, but the topology ends up screwing up when I do… Another obstacle to tackle.
hi Skadalilama it is funy modelling you got here
i love base mesh !:=
