Beginner question about rolling up a part of the mesh

Hello,
havent noticed anywhere a “quick question” topic - since that would be perfect for this - so I’ll just ask here:

This is what I want to do:

I have a relatively flat and even mesh and I want the edge of this to be rolled up a bit like in the pic. The only solution I’ve worked out so far is to mask part of it, feather the mask a bit, rotate, mask out more, rotate again etc. - the end result if rather jaggy. Is there any cleaner way of doing this?
