[beginner] Polycount question

Hi there,

I’m new here and new to Zbrush (not to sculpting). When I look at the models showcased here it seems asthough they a far above 3 mil in polycount. But is this the case? My pc doesn’t seem to handle a lot more than about 3 mil. I’d like to be able to get the same amount of detail. But do I really need more than 3 mil for that detail? (like this one)

About HD sculpting. When I choose to use it, can I transfer that data to a bump/normal map to use it in maya?

The size of the model that your computer can handle depends on your computer. Some machines will handle higher counts than others. But keep in mind that you’ll get better results from splitting your model into multiple SubTools than you would from trying to divide a single SubTool too far.

Regarding HD, that is not currently possible to export. It’s for ZBrush renders only.
