Bat

Bat.jpg

Hello everyone. This is my first Work-In-Progress Post. I just started Zbrush about 1 1/2 months ago. I love to watch others post their works on this site. I sometimes get envious when I see complicated realistic and unrealistic textured models. Hopefully, I will be able to create something like that within a month.

For my first post, I wanted to create something ordinary, but challenging. So I decided to create a bat. It’s not perfect. I haven’t mastered texturing yet. I want to create hair and fur, but I am having difficulty with the fiber brush and the fiber material. Also, I would like to make the wings semi-transparent. So I’m search the forum for tutorials and techniques. I want to make this as realistic as possible. I know it can be done with Zbrush, but it will take some time.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Hey that’s a really cool looking bat! I’m liking it and encourage you to figure out the fur thing. I believe their has been a few tuts for fur and hair, it’s all in the settings! Good luck and keep going!

That is a very nice bat. Good work, pilgrim. Oh, and welcome!

One of the experienced regulars (andreseloy) did a pic recently with some wonderfully fine hair in ZB (most create hair in postwork in their graphics editor). I asked him how he did it, and the splendid chap posted a ZScript. Here: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=25938
Also, make sure you check out the couple of chapters in the ZB2 pdf set , where you make a bamboo cane and ladybirds on a bed of earth and grass. The grass part covers both ways you can create fibres.

Best of luck. :+1:
