ya, you can encounter allot of prejudice here for those of us who may have touched or used a figure posing program. I had a few knock down drag out fights with a few folks. Here is how I see things… A tool is a tool, when it comes to art its your creation, no matter what tool you use. I personally struggle with figure modeling. I have a tendency to use preconstructed figures. In Zbrush, I make clothing, add details, make subtools like weapons, architecture and scenery pieces. then I take all these things into Vue or Carrara to assemble into a scene and render it.
God forbid we don’t have to money to buy $5,000+ animation and rendering package, or are morally bankrupt enough to pirate it.
There is a population of artists here who forget that Zbrush is priced in the range of the Hobbyist.
Now on the opposite side of the fence, I have had conversations with Daz users who are truly frightened of sculpting so much as a trash can.
While you are here, I recommend working on some sculpting. make some models in Zbrush from scratch, Decimate them and import them into a Daz Scene. I find it empowering.
You have entered a jagged zone, scorned by both sides and loved by neither. Keep smiling, someday more like us will come to light.
