Which can I get a better result out of my sculpts? Zspheres or making a base mesh?
different strokes for different folks…
they both do the same thing, it’s just a personal preference. some people find zspheres to be faster, some people find a basemesh to be faster.
personally, when i’m working from a very specific concept, I will build a base mesh using traditional methods (workplanes w/ box modeling). If my art director says “hey, we need a new character… surprise me”, I will use zspheres after drawing some thumbnails on paper.
so basically it depends on how detailed the concept is that i’m handed, and how precise it needs to be.
