Base mesh is to high poly.

Thank you for answering my past questions. I have one more now.

I started modeling a character and I’ve gotten pretty far with it until i came to realize that the lowest geometry setting is still a pretty high poly count. When i retopologize it will i be given the opportunity to make it a lower res geometry mesh? and if not, is there a way to this?

Yes, when you retopologize you will automatically have the lowest resolution mesh as possible for level 1, plus a number of subdivision levels set by the Tool>Adaptive Skin>Density slider.
