I dont really expect a reply to this. Just showing what I am doing getting ready to play in Z3. Posing, perspective, sub tools open things up for me as far as image making possibilities. I am very anxious to get to it. I have been trying to make a basic body for both male and female. Just something to use as a base with Z3. I sent Bas (who is probably fishing as I write this ) the mesh I had been doing. I tacked a Z head I had done on DDs base mesh after a lot of reworking. Bas sent it back with a basic head he had done and commented on bad triangles around the shoulder chest area and underneath the arms. This is something that hadnt occured until I changed the geometry by putting a new head on. I beat on that mesh and cut and finally decided the best thing to do was start over using the head Bas had tacked onto DDs trashed mesh. This is the second body I have ever extruded. The first was DD my dinosaur man. Next I will make a female body. I know the body isnt optimal. I have a lot to learn about mesh flow. I tied most of the bad areas underneath the feet and I have to reinflate the hands and feet at the lowest poly level. I bounced this back and forth between Zbrush and Silo Beta mainly using Zbrush to smooth my lines out.
Tom very good idea…probably this help me to surpass the head step blocking flow:D

Thanks Mario. Gotta get ready while we can. The Z3 storm is almost upon us ! I have done basic heads before both in Zbrush and in Silo. I just think Bas did a better job expecialy around the nose area. Bas if you ever read this thx man. It gave me a great starting point. Now to go back and feminize this thing
=) great job so far i am looking forward to this in z3!
Poooh, just came back from my fishing trip. It was great fun, good water and a lot of trouts :-)))) (All catched and released! They were too beautiful to eat those brown- and rainbowtrouts.) Great beer they have in Belgium:-))))
Checking my maibox I found the models you send me, they look good. It’s always an adventure to build a full body. Now you can puzzle how to follow the muscles, make the knees and do the other details. Keep posting, cheers!
Hah I knew you would have a grand time fishing!
Trips like that are good for the soul and nice you released them too. I usually try and release unless the fish has swallowed the hook and will die after I get it out. Those are the ones I eat
I would like to try Belgium beer one day… for now I will stick to Heineken
But can only have one or two a week
o well
ok here I am fairly done on the female body. I will be going back tomorrow and laying out a map in uvmapper pro for both models. I will probably do a cylindrical map for the heads. I femininized Bas’s basic head and extruded breasts. When I did this it created a lot of mesh flow problems and I had to reroute some edges. I also added control lines in the waist and butt areas and in the legs to make pushing and pulling easier at low poly. I reshaped the feet and hands and made them Huge. This is because the structure seems deterioate at the lowest poly lvl if I work up some higher divisions. I can always scale them down. They wont get clothes til Z3. Texture and some real sculpting next. Next model will be a dragon or something 4 legged. yes I know nobody does dragons…

Thanks for the link Joep! Wish I had seen this earlier but I think I can apply the same principles here and adjust my meshes. My main thought was just to have something I can sculpt on, building up the mesh division by division and adding detail in Z but this will allow me to pre define some areas. I pretty much winged it by extruding down and out from the neck. Guess I will have to put off my UV mapping for now until I get all the basic areas in. First on list, kneecaps and belly buttons!
