Baking shortcut doesn't act like it does in this video. Answered.

You someone please describe how to do the baking proceedure shown at 6:55 in this video

I know that baking brings the tool from edit mode down to the 2.5 canvas, but when I press bake or shift-B, I lose the tool in edit mode and have to redraw it to get it back into edit more.

Yet in this video it doesn’t look like he has to redraw anything to get the tool back into edit mode. Please describe how to do this. I know it is probably really simple, but I have been search for over 45 minutes and can’t figure it out.

He’s just using the snapshot (Shift+S) to make a copy of the model on the canvas. The actual model stays in Edit mode.
