bake Normal Map into high res mesh...?

can someone tell me how this could be done? I want to take a smoothed mesh and have the details from the normal map baked into the mesh…

is this possible in zbrush?

You’ll want to convert the normal map into a displacement map. Then apply the displacement map to the new mesh.

How would I apply the displacement map?
What I want is a couple of layers with normal maps baked into my mesh…
Or perhaps displacement maps.

Is there a way to simply plug in a displacement map and have it affect my model?

Maybe I need a way to apply the map and then paint over top of my model bringing out details where they need to be. Could that be done? and if so how?
