bake material to texture without zapplink?

I seem to remember this was possible, but not how. I kind of hate the zapplink thing and my photoshop is old and I have no desire to upgrade. I know that lighting has an effect but it should be a simple feature to provide and there must be some way to work around this already. Thanks.

Well, I finally figured this out from an old zb2 tut. I will post the steps in zb3 in case someone else needs this some time.

First make a displacement map.
Then clone it.
Then select it on the left hand side of gui.
Then select your material.
Then click fill and crop menu from the material menu.
Then go to textures and hit grabdoc to take it off the screen.
Then export it.

That will give you the material info. Then you can blend it outside in photoshop or whatever, or just keep it as a separate map. A little convoluted but works.
