Background Tranperancy

hi there
i was wondering if anyone could help make my background tranparant.
ive read somewhere that it is automatically tranparent but when i export to photoshop it still has the black background.

also on the rotate comand i can rotate a image 2d easerly but 3d it just seems to be an ocational fluke bye cliking all around the crosshair .

any help would be greatly apreciated .

there is a transparent button in the texture palette… first try that… you might have to change the threshold in photoshop a little…

hi my friend.
no, actually, there is no way yet to export transparency. all tranparent areas in a .zbr document will become a solid background colour (for example, the default black)

also note, that there is no actual support of multi-layer .psd export. what you do in zbrush may be multi-layered, with lots of transparency, but it will export as a snapshot of your screen, a completely 2D, single-layer image.

Ofer, it’s over to you from here
I think I’ve included it in my wishlist?..

don’t blame the people at pixologic, my friend; they are doing a fantastic job already.

besides, a good “magic wand” stroke in photoshop can be even better than even having a “transparency from mask”

cheers.

Well said, Chris!

My approach if something needs to be transparent is to give it an off-the-wall background color (in the Document palette). Then Photoshop can work its magic with the wand very easily.

im sorry i guess i miss understood the question thanks aurick and christos for helping jetto out…

thanks for your help guys
apreciate it .
in the end i did it with photoshop anyways
but it sure would make it easy to have it tranparant to start with ,i find the magic wand sometimes misses some of the textures.

man your galerys are awsome im still miles off creating anything like that

Hi Jetto,
You can use the MRGBZGrabber tool and get a full size alpha that can be used as a mask-channel in Photoshop.

That’s an awesome idea, ZuZu. I’d never have thought of that one – I’m always bringing alphas into ZBrush, but keep forgetting that other programs can use them, too!

so you prove me wrong, ZuZu

thanx!!!
