backface masking not working for 4r6? [Answered]

i’ve tried a ton of different angles… not sure what i’m missing:

i’m trying to mask off the outer portion of a head to use fibermesh.
without a mask, the fibers shoot through both sides of the model making it relatively useless.

no matter what i do with the backface mask setting on the masking brush, it doesn’t work and still paints on the interior of the model, allowing fibers on both sides. i’ve messed with the intensity, the curve function graph, etc. nothing seems to fix the problem.

is there something i’m missing here? i thought i was pretty well versed on most of Zbr but this one is causing some frustration beyond my normal lack of talent in general. thanks for your time…

Turn off ‘Double’ in ‘Tool > Display Properties’.

is that just a fiber mesh issue in terms of “when you’re doing a fiber mesh creation, you want to turn off double sided display until you have accepted it and moved on”?

thanks again

Yes, that would be just for the Fiber Mesh editing. I guess there might be a case where you would want it on both sides though. It depends on what you’re doing.
