Aw C'mon!

Try this:

Change document background to no gradient, black color. Open any mesh. Try to make a turntable movie.

K :o -RASHHHHHH!

Consistently crashes ZBrush. Now I love my ZB, goodness knows, but you gotta be kidding me? The unstability of this is getting beyond frustrating.

Anyone experience similar? I am doing my best to be patient, but Pixologic simply MUST fix some of these bugs in the upcoming ZB4.

I am a software engineer (C++, C# blah blah blah), so I know how difficult this app must be, but doesn’t their QA dept. even check some of these simple things?

Aurick, in a effort to not be (only) a complainer, if there is anything I can do to help, puleeeease don’t hesitate to let me know. Send me a PM or something.

-taking a long drink of 18 year old Glenlivet…there…that’s better.

what you are setting up and crashing with…always works for me.

It crashes with the Demo Head…or any mesh. Simply load ZB, change document background gradient to 0, and change color to black. Render a turntable movie (default setup).

No workie.

Running Windows Vista 64, 4 Gig Ram, oodles of HD space etc.

Bummer, eh?

It works…fine for…me?

Even after a reboot, clean memory, I tried and still a meltdown every time.

  1. Upon startup, choose Demo Head.
  2. Document.Range slider all the way to 0
  3. Click and drag the Document. Background icon all the way to the black color picker.
  4. Click Movie.Turntable

ZBrush meltdown.

Interesting that I’m the idiot having this problem. Weird.

Oh well. on to bigger issues…

I was able to duplicate this by following the steps exactly as you list them.

However, you can avoid the crash by rotating the model on the canvas before you start the turntable. Just rotate it a bit and then hold shift to snap it back to facing squarely forward. This must be done after setting the document background.

This issue has already been fixed in the Mac version, so you should see the fix in ZBrush 4.
