Average Male Bust - Please Critique

Hey everyone. Since I’ve been in Arch-vis for a couple years I haven’t had much time to get around to my Zbrush passion. I’m just getting back into it and this is my learning exercise. I decided to take a model from start to finish to practice learning again.

Please critique, be mean, I can take it :). (The Back doesn't look good, backs are tough)

Nothing to be mean about, it looks good, that is a sculpture of a man and that is his face, that’s how he looks. Good job! And the skin looks good, good texture.

What program did you render in? Looks like Max or Mental Ray. :+1: :+1:

The shape of his cranium is off. The widest part of the human head is through the parietal bones which are in the top 1/3 of your head. You’ve got the widest part at the point the top of his earlobe meets his head so you just need to adjust that a little bit. Also his neck seems on the long side as well but its hard to judge if he’s just supposed to be really tall or if he’s supposed to have more average proportions.

The texturing looks very good and the forms of his face look pretty spot on as well.

Thanks for the skull comments. The render was done with VRay’s SSS2 shader. Which I’m still figuring out. I’ll correct the skull and post the final renders soon.
