Autosave????

Hey guys, I keep crashing in zbrush for countless unknown reasons, and I KEEP NOT SAVING. For whatever stupid reason, I simply don’t save unless I’ve reached points where I’ve done something very important. I just lost half an hour of work on a model because I didn’t save, and right when I was finished and getting ready to save, it crashed.

From what I’ve searched, there’s not really any zscript for autosave, IS THERE??? I’ve seen quicksave, but that’s not what I need because I’m too thick to remember to quicksave regularly. Any ideas???

There’s this: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=46610

It would be a good idea, though, to find out WHY you’re getting those crashes. It sounds like you’ve got some preferences settings that are hampering ZBrush’s performance.

How many polys does your model have?
How much RAM does your system have?
What are your Preferences>Mem settings?

it’s definitely not that, I was at 180k polys and I can handle over 8M polys without crashing.

There are many factors that go into solid performance. Setting Preferences>Mem>Compact Mem to the incorrect setting for your system is the single most common cause of crashing upon saving models. That’s why I asked for that extra information. The Undo settings can create problems, too. I was simply trying to get more information so that I could hopefully help eliminate your crashing. But if you don’t want that help, well that’s fine, too.
