automatic delete of uv map after pressing the make polymesh3d button, [Answered]

hello zbrush community,

at the first time after start of zbrush (4r2), after import a lowpoly model, switching to “edit”-mode and usually pressing the “Make PolyMesh3D” button, the UV Map will be vanish/deleted. why this?

are there any settings to prevent this problem?

The Make Polymesh3D button creates a new mesh but it is only necessary to use it on the ZBrush primitives which can’t be sculpted otherwise. If you are importing geometry from elsewhere then it will already be a polymesh so you can sculpt or polypaint without problems (and your UVs will be preserved).

you are right. i have learned to make everything polymesh3d after import, that wasnt necessary and make the work with zbrush a little bit lighter. thank you.
