Cool work Aumakua. Are your brushes still available? Link didn’t seem to work…

Thank you  I’ve added some new links, on mediafire, check them out, http://www.noisyknuckles.com/blog/?page_id=118

Long time no write  hello people!

This is my submission for CGFeedback***8217;s Mini Challenge 11 titled ***8220;Microscopic Life***8221;.
The theme was microscopic life forms, it could be dust mites , real bugs or imaginary ones, parasites etc.
So, I decided to make an imaginary dustmite fooling around on a nanomachine installation, using some
of the great free brushes made by Michael Dunnam.

Some work in progress for a warlord character I’ve been building these days…

HELMET_DECORATED_WIP_9_WEB.jpgHELMET_DECORATED_WIP_6_WEB.jpg

I really like the design as well as the details on the overall object.

However, I think some of them might be too much like on the part that covers the face for example. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s really well done on the technical side but too much detail everywhere might lose your viewer’s eye when looking at your character for the first time.

Thanks alot Ouran. Yes, it looks like too much as information but it’s still under consideration. I’ve got all the bitmaps in surface mode detailing so I can modify them easily.

Work in progress for the shoes…

The belt so far…

Aumakua, I love the details. What process did you use to add the ornate patterns to the helmet?

Thanks  I used Surface->Noise, with several tileable bitmaps, so that I can test different looks and settings before apply them to the mesh.

One of the tools of his trade…
DOUBLE_AXE_1_WIP.jpg

Struggling to stuff the whole character in a single zproject… in vain.

Some update… unfortunately the zproject keeps getting corrupted when I reload it…

The AXE effect
I found out that while saving my work in a zproject I ended up with a gigantic corrupted file, when I chose to save a ztool (including all the subtools),
I could reload properly my work, no matter how many ztools and millions polygons were there

Hello again!
That’s my final version of the Norse warlord, textured and rendered. I was lucky enough to write a texturing series of tutorials based on him for 3DCreative magazine,
www.3dcreativemag.com.
For more wip shots and renders please check my blog, http://www.noisyknuckles.com/blog/?p=609
I hope you like him  Thanks for watching!
