Attempt at a realistic eye

This is my first look specifically at an eye, and it took about 3 hours. I haven’t really gotten much feedback on most of my stuff, and I’m basically a noob still with no education other than grade 11 art so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve looked all over, but I can’t really find any good ways to make hair for the eybrows / eyelashes. Is it better to make them as subtools, or to bake the render and paint them on?

I think you’ll get more realistic results with a lot less effort through baking and painting. But try it with subtools – lord knows, if you’re happy with the results, they’re a lot more versatile.

In fact… This study’s in a real good place to compare both methods and report back!

you can also try creating a layer for your model (3dLayers) and using the lazy mouse and zadd with the standard brush to sculpt the eyebrows on. Just use a very small brush size. If you don’t like the brows, you can turn the layer off and your model is unharmed.

This looks like a good try at it, the layer option does sound like the way to go. Would be nice to have a comparing point amongst the options. Keep up the good work. :+1:

alright, i’ll give all those things a try to see which works best thanks for the advice
