Attack of the Aliens

For several weeks now I’ve been learning about Mapping, Texturing, and The ZBrush to Maya Pipeline. During this process I’ve created some new models - Aliens…
I need to learn how to create some eyes for these characters… I was messing around with ZProject today and have a good idea of how to go about it now - or least a good direction…
This first model I made for my Girlfriend - “A way to include her so I’ll be able to spend more time learning ZBrush.” Oh I’m making something for you sweetheart… Yeah right, Anyway…

I created a displacement map and a bump map for this guy and was able to bring him into Maya for the first time - with the detail… Joyous moment. This photo was rendered in ZBrush and than adjusted the hue/sat in PhotoShop.
I just started learning Maya and ZBrush in October and have huge respect for all of you here that can use the pipelines into other 3D Packages - Bunch of Dedicated Smart Mo-Fo’s you are!..

really cool models - color is great!

I love the “top” alien paint job. Excellent sculpting and design. Cant wait to see more.

SixxPixels,

You certainly have talent! Its always exciting to me to see individuals from all different walks of life and locations around the globe come to ZBrush as a sculpting solution. I enjoy the large variations of your aliens. Do a little search for tutorials by Jason Walsh. I think you have to pay a little fee now, but it would be money well spent. Another resource worth looking into is Gnomon they have free tutorials and DVDs for purchase both are excellent.
Have Fun,
Looking forward to more of your work!

Hey thanks guys that means a lot to me… I really need to start adding in sub-tools to my models - clothes, weapons, hair etc…
Funny thing about learning Zbrush; It’s fun.
Thanks again for the kind words and advise.

realy nice sculpts man.

That is very, very, very impressive! Great sculpts!

I sort of lost myself (again) in this model… I created several heads for it, I also tried several other older heads and I just couldn’t find anything that I liked. I’m still not sure about this one.
I used a recently acquired a Matcap created by Bryan Silva, - Chavant01, Thanks Bryan the Toxic Papa Wax is awesome too!

Anyway, like I said… I got lost in the model… I want to keep going but I think it’s going to get to distracting with all the s**t coming out of it. The knive backpack thingy gave me several new mental concepts so that’s what I’m going to start on next.

I haven’t posted here in awhile… I’ve been focusing all of my time learning Maya… And the NBA Playoffs…

I check into this site every 7-10 hours to see the work that’s been posted for that period and even through I don’t always have the time to comment on people threads… I must say that; It’s inspiring to see everyone learning and posting their progress.
