AT ST - First Zbrush Project (WIP)

Hello,

I’m a motion graphic designer and I’m new to Zbrush. I mostly work on commercial content for sports television but I want to start creating more artistic 3D models. This is my first project with Zbrush. I mostly used the Zmodeler brush to get the first stage of my AT ST project project done. My next step will be to add UVs, sculpted details and textures. Will upload more screen shots once I have some progress.

Check out www.illicitgraphics.com for some of my work. Any tips or criticism is welcomed. Thank you.

love it! would so much like to be able to do such things!

Thank you! If you are already working on Zbrush is worth taking the time to use zmodeler. It was easier than expected once I got used to all it’s features. Now I need to learn organic modeling. =)

I finished modeling all the basic shapes. Before I sculpt some detail I did a quick UV unwrap in Zbrush. First time using Zbrush to UV. AT ST 2.jpgAT ST 4.jpg

Your model looks awesome!
With the uv unwrap from UV master I assume.
You can see the UVz dont sit square to some edges.
I mainly use guv’s but they arent always the best for using in photoshop. (Not at all really)
Would love to know how to get nice UV islands that are nice and aligned to edges.
BFG.

Thanks. I did use UV Master. I know how to clean up my UVs in C4D but for this project I wanted to stick to Zbrush as much as possible to speed up the learning curve.

Perhaps there will be some changes in zbrush r8

That looks great - nice clean modelling too

Done with the modeling in Zbrush and now trying to learn Substance painter. I know most people use it for gaming pipelines but I’m trying to see how well I can texture a not so high poly model. First stage.
