Assigning a Brush to a Hotkey Problem

I have attempted to follow the method described in the official documentation assigning hotkeys:

http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Custom_Hotkeys

I can’t get it to work though. I follow the procedure and I get a message that I have assigned the key. However, when I attempt to use the hotkey, nothing happens or weird stuff happens, like the window moving around by itself or my tool being sculpted without input from me. Believe me, I know it sounds crazy but nevertheless, that is what is happening.

I’m using 4R3 on Mac OS 10.7.3.

it sounds like you’re trying to overwrite 1
1 is set to repeat last stroke. 2 starts a macro of recording and then 1 will apply anything up to that point. My guess is that is where your self sculpting is coming from.

Set your hotkeys, save them, quit Zbrush.
Restart and make sure they work.

You can’t store a hotkey for a brush that isn’t loaded into Zbrush at Startup either. So make sure you’re not loading in a brush through lightbox or anything else.

hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, this did not work. Also, I have tried other keys besides 1 and 2. It doesn’t matter what key I assign, none of them cooperate.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this issue? Anyone else have this problem?

I think that’s all you. can you post up a step by step or a vid showing the problem?
