Hey all. I’m a self-taught Zbrusher, which means that I probably have bad fundamental understanding. I’ve done a few projects that would be considered very modest when compared to the beautiful works that I’ve seen here. Anhoo, I’m trying to apply a textile alpha to a hat (all curves), and I’m stuck. I created my UVs, and hit “morph UVs” to flatten the object out. I applied a mask via the alpha, hoping to “unmorph”, and then use the mask to inflate the pattern onto the hat. Unfortunately, any changes made to the flattened UVs are not carried over when unflattened, leaving me with no masking on the 3d hat. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
Make sure the mesh has a texture first (New from Polypaint if it has none), morph UVs, then use Projection Master. Apply the mask as a black RGB, and pick it back up from Projection Master. Then mask by the texture intensity.
It’s quicker now to use the tiling alpha with Surface Noise now though.
Thanks bro! I have much still to learn.
