But, I see some loops here. I best guess was you used displ map/ GUVs and masked by alpha. Then sculpted them.
So, my guess was wrong.
No loops this time, i’ve divided the plane 'til 6 Ml poly approximately and draw some circle with mask , inverted the mask and make the holes the easiest way just because my intention was firstly to use grabdoc and have an entire alpha with some holes…only after i’ve decided to make an interesting image. Anyway at the end, it was not useful this alpha to simulate some Beksinski “holes”, it’s better to draw in 2.5 mode to have his structures and generate an alpha (i’m working on it actually, so will see) - forget my english ahah
I tried 2.5 d a few times. I can’t have the control I would like to on the depth though.
since you got,
is really wonderful and has been very well
What are the parameters of the file and print?
thx you, it can be printed without loss at 40x50 (300 dpi) not so much but ok
thank you very much, you’re a genius;)

These panels are beautiful.
Just a thought. Why don’t you start sculpting them on clay, or maybe using beewax? ZBrush is a fine sketching tool but I think you can do better on the traditional medium.
A question: How do you bake your alpha maps?
Two ways, one as baking from multires meshes (planar UVs), a second as depth map under BPR passes.
About the alphas normally i make a Grabdoc to have an alpha to test on surfaces
of course you can obtain it while rendering with depth pass

I am visualizing the oddest association with those weird neck rings the Dutch were so into in the 15th/16th centuries – you know, the big white frilly things that were 3 times as wide as their heads! I believe the reason they started wearing them is that they wanted to hide neck sores from diseases like syphilis…which suits the mood here quite well, now that I think of it.
yes Mhued, thx you…i’ll release the Demon of Syphilis
i’ve something in mind a bit complex but i dont know if i have the time…
i’ve made just a sketch on paper will see
Just a sketch of what i’m planning to do in the next days,
hope i have the time and not being lost with subtools, retopology, polypainting, render passes etc
What do u think guys ?

Hi,
Very interesting to see your sketch in its basic form.
thanks for that. Looks very creepy and different.
Cant wait to see the result!
Thx you, since the beginning of this thread my keyword was: experimenting and with the help of the community here, posting some wip to find some different ways of expression (for me at least). Now while i’m still focusing on that project i’ve done this just to test some sculpting and study Beksinski-like style more. This is ZB for the sculpted Tower and PS for the oil paint version. A straight image to see the potential of some brushes i made
Hope u like it
