Hi, catfishman! Had a restless night again? I like the pict and special the material for the skin. It looks he is burned by accid.
BTW, why you always start with a sphere? Starting with a box gives more control making a head. Using edgeloops for the mouth and ears gives more poly’s to sculpt.
Nice weather is coming and its time leaving my dusty room and pick up the fishingrod  Maybe also time to paint my house :frowning:

Heyas Bas, great to hear from ya’!

I use the sphere when I am lazy basically and just doodling about… I like using a zsphere base sometimes, but yes I love the box modeling method and do use it alot.

And yeppers the weather here has been around 80 degrees daily. I have had to do alot of lawn cutting…but today thru Saturday I think they are calling for rain, so I can lay around the house and play catchup on my domesticated stuff…grrrrrrr…and with any luck get caught up on some Zbrush smatterings I have been wanting to do.

The fish have been calling to me, I just have to make the time to return the call of the wild back to them.

I have been trying to delve into my brain cell and look in it’s darkest recesses trying to figure out something original to do in zbrush, but only rubbish is appearing at this time. I may make a list of some of my favorite movie creatures and try to give them a whirl with my own touch…I just always feel like I am stealing if it’s not something original though…anyhoo…hope all is well with you and your people there, Bas. And thnx for responding.

Looks we have similar problems Ron lol. I hate restless nights but they are good for creativity  I really like the acid look on his skin also. Hmmm I wonder if the red bellys are biting… nah prolly just some old specks…
Tartan

dunno what a red belly or speck is…salmon or something and a crappie??? Great to have another fisherperson around…thnx for your words Tartan.

Lack of sleep has led to hundreds of zbrush images and sketches for sure over the past few years. Sometimes it is that restlessness that gets me thru writers’ block and my zblock.

Still I lack and still have so much to learn apparently though.

thnx again you two.

Kindest of regards,

Ron Harris

BTW, Ron can you share the skin material?
Yes?
You like pikefishing?

Never been pike fishing. Always wanted to try it though. We have something around here that is edible and hase teeth, it’s called a Sauger…they look alot like a Walleye…fun to catch…

And since you asked…here is the skin and light setting for the image…please note I played around in the render adjustments also…anyhoo…hope all is well with you. Makes lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$
yer bud,
Ron

The place where you catch these is there a strong stream? If not I like to send you a home made and a good catching blinker

I have caught most of mine on the Cumberland river…which is swift when there has been a good rain. It runs about 8 meters deep. I love freebies, what is a blinker? That is a new term for me. A lure? The catfishman is always up for trying out anythign that will improve his catches. This is definitely a fishing day here…the rains didn’t start as they had forecast all day. grrrrrrr…The closest thign I have come to fishing today is having my daughter clean out my 55 gallon fish pond in the back yard so I can install a new pump. O joy… (crying) OMG I am becoming my father…
ron :)))))))

LOL, I can relate to that feeling  red bellys are just good eating river bream with a nice color on the underside with a lotta fight on a brimbuster and specks are speckled perch… i think they also may be called black crappie? And yes today is definitely a nice fishing day and another lost oppurtunity… :frowning: I am going to play with some skin g.

Tartan

Blinker, I could not find the english word. I made it all including the blade, exept the hook ofcourse.

Beautiful lure bas. That bit of red and black is a good color combo, and a sweet looking blade also…
Tartan

Want to try Tartan?

Yes i do bas but I am in poor health and fatigue too quickly and just havent been able to get the energy for it… One day after i get done with the medical treatment in december and start feeling like myself again… absolutely yes! and thanks for the offer

Tartan

That is one fine looking lure. It would definitely fit into my fishing “workflow” I do use something similiar from time to time, but it’s no where as enticing as your Blinker appears.

I have a very small spoon type lure I can send you as well. It’s very simple, but something about it turns the fish on around here. I get the lures at about 6 at a time or more…their availability around here is extremely limited thru the year. So I keep stocked up. I throw the little spoon out while I am fishing from the wall at the stream plant, and let the line out about 20 yards or so and just let the current work the lure on the top of the water. The river herring take it and hook themselves. A whole lot of fun.

Tartan, I don’t know what illness you suffer from my friend, but God be with you and I wish and pray you good health in the future. Zbrush is good therapy, just ask our good friend on the forum, Andresloy. I think it has gotten him thru some very rough times. Be well.

Ron

ps. Looking forward to your uses of the skin.

he looks like a mate of mine !!!

hope he dont read this

great work ron :+1: :+1: :+1:

btw any of you do sea fishing??? (my passion beachcasting and spinners/lures around rocks ) some great cod close in around the northwest of england/wales
end of last year now we should be getting some bass catches but the sizes have dropped over the past few years.
good tip use a light line and rod and a single feather lure and do some mackrel fishing weight for weight on a light setup they give a good fight and its a fair fight (unlike when bait fishing and dropping a 50lb line with 50,000 lures  )

Thanks Ron for the support to Tartan as was yours with me time ago…You Ron are always all the time a very good friend¡
…yes, Tartan, ZBrush is a lot more than a program, not only addictive in the good sense (if i could say that!) but more important is Therapeutic and allow to discover beutiful things inside each one.Just flow in a free way with ZBrush.
I always say that ZBrush is a research laboratory for the spirit !!!
The best for you and keep your happy feeling very high that will help you¡
Andreseloy

Thanks guys, Meeting people like you is worth the price of admission but i didnt mean to steer the conversation that way. lol… Personally I would rather talk fishing and art  Cos i love coast fishing. I live in North Florida and some of the best fresh and sea water fishing in the world is here though i tend to haunt the fresh water more. Coast fishing is a blast. Ron you are in for a good time… Invest in a good surf rod and a bucket of shrimp and kick back Doesnt really matter if you catch anything but I think you will

It will take me awhile before I get to using the skin mat but yes I do have an idea or two for it. I tend to rely on traditional maps, I have been experimenting with laying traditional on top of the skin mats and have had mixed results. i have to create a villain or three for my Always the Black Knight set of images and it will mark my first full use of Zbrush in an image. I just have a lot to learn before I feel I have enough knowledge to do it and to do with the standards i set myself in an image. Its a really well done material.
I am liking the blue eyes also  /e tries to go back sleep lol

Tartan

Hmm that was strange… half my message didnt make it… Oh well I like the Blue eyes best!
