Hi odhin, this is a great thread, you have really gotten alot better and I hope you are able to find a job. You have a lot of skill and dedication i can tell. There are just a few small things bothering me. I think you should check out some pictures of eye lids because the shape is off and the way they are fitting into the rest of the eye area. Also you would see less of the eye lid towards the middle of the face because his brow his slanted like that, and you would see more towards the outside. I think the head might be a little small compared to the rest of body too. Also the jaw should extend to the ear Again this is great work and i couldnt do any better, just some suggestions.
Argonaut: you have a keen eye and everything you said is true.
Thanks for the great crits and your words of support, mean alot when I hear them from you guys.
I will try and fix some of the problems you pointed out.
Cy: I sent you an e-mail, sorry I missed your post.
Bridgeman is my greatest influence followed by Frazetta.
Thanks for the kind words bro.
Fixed some problem areas( thank you Argonaut)
and started detailing…
The bodies you make looks great, real great! But please do something about the mouth and face, it always has the same strange cry. It does not has the quality of the other bodyparts. Just a push
Bas:
Thanks for the crits…
I’ll work on those.
Started the body from scratch and tried some new techniques.
Here are some screen grabs…

Amazing Job
cool works i see alot of application and dedication in it. you have a great amount of details, and good posing skills. i also can see some good artistic influences.
do you know the works of Druillet? he’s a french comic book artist, very skilled, and that due to your style should please you. also you remember Blake’s style sometimes.
all i can say is that you should probably be more subtle sometimes. you have good anatomy most of times, but its a bit too exagerated in definition. maybe getting inspired form some classic sculpture works, like Canova ones could help, and also some Zack Petrock.
another thing to pay attention to, is obtaining some kind of more omogeneous look, using subtle variations in the color scheme, but not huge changements in colors.
by studying more classic works, you could add to your art style that’s powerful, some more elegance and grace that will be a benefit and add even more value to your art.
keep up the good work!
Great pose man and really nice muscle definition. You are getting better and better. Keep it up.
Flaco:
Thanks bro…

Thanks for the support and crits.
I still have a long way to go as a modeler and I realize my short-comings as an artist, but I try to improve on a daily basis.
Hard work is the only cure. I enjoyed the work by Druillet, thank you for mentioning him.
Here is a rough layout of the next character in the piece.
I suppose the end result will be the " Good vs Evil " scenario.
I left the rig in the shot for those who use Maya to see it and to show how Zbrush and Maya go hand in hand.
About the piece… the character in the back is whispering an offer of some sorts to the foreground figure.
I made the leg almost “snake” around the first figure like a serpent. I want a feeling of ancient evil and contempt to eminate from this unholy offer. Not sure if I can pull off what I have in my head but I will try.
Vlad: Thank you my friend.

Funny you should say that… as I teach Jiu-Jitsu in Ontario.
Here is the layout so far in a very rough and low-poly state…

Abyssis:
Thanks bro, always appreciate your kind words and support.
Here is a rig test with “The Setup Machine.”
The figure in the back was pre-rigged with widgets to fit the character and the figure leaping in the front is fully rigged with a neat add-on built in from the company which is influence objects to stop polys from collapsing without painting skin weighting.
This was rigged from scratch in about 20 minutes.

This is most of the Torso done for the above pictured guy.
I have isolated each part into a polygroup so I can subdivide further.
Jason Belec and Aurick were of enormous help with this.
Thanks to both of them.
