Argh! 3.12 for Mac is SO aggravating!!!

So I’ve poly painted my mesh. Then I used Tools / Tex > Col to convert my polyPaint to a texture map. Then I used Texture / New and set the dimensions but the polyPaint texture doesn’t appear (in short I can’t export my painted texture). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You’ve simply got things out of order.


  1. PolyPaint
  2. Use Tool>Texture to set your mapping (if necessary) and texture size.
  3. Use Col>Txr to covert the paint to a texture
  4. Press Tool>Texture>Clone to move the texture from your SubTool to the Texture palette so that you can export it. (Remember: 3.12 now allows each SubTool to have its own texture. This means that textures can’t automatically appear in the Texture palette.)
