Im pretty new to Zbrush, so I hope its in the right forum. Must you first scupt with Zspheres and then make adaptive mesh? Or can you just make a model and animate it without using the zspheres? The models are for video game models, as said in the title.
Hi
Zspheres are a fast and easy way to blockout a polygon basemesh or pose a character. For animation in most cases you have to retopo. You can also Import polygon models created in other programs, like *.obj or *.ma and sculpt and texture them if that is what you mean.
I think you make a mistake here, Zbrush is not a skelton or character animation program or game engine but a sculpting and paint program. If you are pointing for game character animation you will need a Ik/fk skeleton animation to create realistic animation. I didn’t explore the new Zbrush animation features yet but it’s not for character animation. you’ll need to spend a few more dollars for that.
I do have 3ds Max and Maya, but I was just checking. Also, would you know if Zbrush has a demo tool for a female body? I know the male one is there and Ive experimented on it a little, but I want to try a female one too.
EOF made his excellent female base available for download on his sketchbook thread here… It’s been an great reference for me.
Wow, it is pretty good, though the feet are slightly off, but still good. Thanks for lettin me know.
