Architecture (and everything else) by Hoong

Hello all!

I study architecture and just came across Zbrush very recently.
For my project I used mainly it to further manipulate geometries that has been created from Grasshopper, etc.

For this project, it was a mishmash of intuitively using the Groom Knot, Move, and Displace brush to intuitively shape the floor slabs and building envelope.

The mini ‘holes’ on the building’s surface was a glitch from the Dynamesh process (trying to Dynamesh a very thin solid mesh) that surprisingly worked to my favor.

I was a novice in 3D programs before this, mostly only doing extrusion / intuitively modelling with from AutoCAD to Sketchup (ocassionally 3Ds max). Nevertheless, I am glad I’m on the path to learning 3D ‘proper’ - things like UV mapping, mesh/topology, bump / displacement maps are things I’ve learned as I explore this program further.

I’m still learning with basic tutorials and will be posting creations as I go - Comments on anything would be great!

Looking at the breadth of works posted in this forum never ceases to amaze me…

Used Remesh, Project details and UV Master to output normal maps and a lowpoly version of the character to be rendered in Max…

Today’s learning…
Tried some GUV tiles and looping, and also watched Glenn Patterson’s tutorial (thanks alot for that excellent tut!) on displacement greebling… Did it to the character and rendered with BPR. :))

Tried some insert curve meshes of pipes and 2.5D export!

Taking Zremesh and panel loops to create something from my project geometry…
Also zdepth + blur to bokeh in photoshop

I downloaded the Obama 3d scan data from sketchfab and cleaned it up into a insert mesh brush.

Playing around with the bridging feature of zbrush to create an Obamascape + some SSS rendering in 3ds Max.
