Applying materials to panel loops?

Can it be done? So I sliced a mesh, panel looped it, split to parts on subtools. Now with each different loop panel separated can I apply a different material to each?

Thanks a bunch…

yes.
show the geo you want to have a material
turn on M
color.fill object

Sorry…don’t understand

Geo like geometry menu…can you be a little more specific…newbe here

i think he means after you split into subtools, click on the subtool in the subtool menu to make it active(meaning the one you want to work on). then up on the top menu, next to rgb is “mrgb”, activate that, then fill your mesh with color as you normally would and the material will also be applied and it will keep that material even when you change material in the material palette.

i don’t think splitting them into subtools is necessary. you can just mask off or make invisible the parts you don’t want the material applied to.

Humm…I must be doing something wrong. I still can’t have different materials in different parts or panels. Once I apply a material they all adopt that material…
