Applying displacement maps to tiled UV groups while utilizing 3d layers

I have a bunch of displacement maps I’ve painted on a model with tiled UVs. Right now, I can apply those to my model by hiding all the parts that AREN’T on the UV tile I’m currently displacing, importing the maps as alphas, then bringing them into the displacement dialog box.

What I’d LIKE to do at this point is create a 3d layers and then click “apply displacement”. The problem is that the 3d layers require all of the model to be visible. And when the entire model is visible, the displacement map is applied to all of the UV tiles which obviously is incorrect. Is there a way to apply each of these separate displacement maps to a separate 3d layer?
